What defines a high-performance home?
A house is more than just walls and a roof, it is a system of components that is linked together to prevent the outside from getting in and providing a stable indoor environment. Our building methods provide a home that more effectively controls the flow of heat, pressure, and moisture throughout the home. This brings lower energy costs and a better in-home quality of life to the homeowner.
All homes built by Ricci Builders are built to exceed traditional building codes and achieve both Energy Star and Indoor Air Plus certification. All certifications are independently verified by a third-party auditor. This process involves the review of the building plans as well as testing and various job site visits to ensure quality and certification standards are met.
Beyond Energy Star
Energy Star certification is a great step towards a better-built home, but more can be done besides just increasing energy efficiency. Other programs such as Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH) and the National Green Building Standard (NGBS) can improve the way that homes and homebuilding sites use energy, water, and materials to reduce impacts on human health and the environment.
